What You Need To Know Before You Apply

Following strong investment in Ghana's economy, more and more travelers are visiting the West African Country. US Citizens will require an entry visa to enter Ghana, so before boarding the next plane to Accra, visitors need to acquaint themselves with the various travel requirements, as per their passport.

Visitors also need to decide what type of visa would best suit them. i.e. whether will you need a business visa, a Ghana tourist visa, or a visa that can be converted into a work permit, to name but a few. Trying to figure out which visa you need for your trip can be complicated, which is why I recommend using Atlys to apply for your visa.

Next, visitors need to determine the entry requirements of the visa selected, i.e. what is the number of entries that you'll need when traveling to Ghana. In other words, will you need a multiple entry visa, or will a single entry visa suffice?

COVID-19 Protocols of Arriving Passengers to Ghana

Passengers must possess a COVID–19 negative PCR test from an accredited laboratory in the country of origin. The test should have been done not more than 72 hours or not more than 3 calendar days before the scheduled departure time from the country of origin. Passengers will be subjected to a mandatory COVID-19 test at the airport terminal at a cost of $150 to be borne by the passenger.

Travelers who have been fully vaccinated are not exempted from the required PCR testing before traveling.

The Processing Time

The processing time depends on the Service Type. Below is the chart, and the visa fees.

There are 2 Service Types:

  • Expedited Service - 5 Business Days.

Once you select the service type on the application you won't be able to edit once inserted. Make sure you know what service and visa type you would like.
