More About Covid in Bulgaria

Do you need a Test/Medical Certificate?

Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on arrival. Citizens and long-term residents arriving without a valid test result will be required to undergo quarantine for 10 days. A PCR test must be taken from the tenth to the twelfth day after arrival and the test result must be sent via e-mail to the regional health inspectorate which has placed them under quarantine.

Do you need to be vaccinated?

Travelers are required to present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an authorized vaccine. Vaccinated travelers are exempt from quarantine requirements. Alternatively, those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 are also exempt from quarantine requirements. Travelers may provide proof of a positive antigen or PCR test, taken at least 11 days before departure and not more than 180 days, on arrival. Citizens and long-term residents arriving without any of the documents above will be required to undergo quarantine for 10 days. This period can be shortened if a PCR test is taken after 72 hours of arriving and a negative result is confirmed.

Do you need to wear a mask?

Face masks are required in all public spaces when it is not possible to maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters. The use of face shields, scarves, or other face coverings as an alternative to face masks is not permitted.
