Singapore is one of my top 10 countries. It is so beautiful and clean and very popular. I would love it if everyone could experience everything Singapore offers.
Now you can!
With a Singapore Tourist Visa, also known as the Singapore Visitor Visa, you can travel to Singapore and enjoy all it has to offer. In this post, I'll guide you through everything you need to know about the Singapore Tourist Visa, including how to apply online, how to apply at an embassy, and the costs and Singapore visa processing times.
Several nationalities can enter Singapore without applying for a visa. However, both visa-free travelers and those who require permission before departure must apply for a valid SG Arrival Card before starting their trip. This authorization includes the health declaration.
You must apply for a valid SG Arrival card if you are in one category: Visa-free travelers, online visa visitors, or traditional paper visa holders.
The Tourist Visa for Assessment Level One Countries is for foreign nationals with a passport from one of the Assessment Level One countries. If you do, you can apply for a Singapore Tourist online visa, also known as an electronic visa (eVisa).
Assessment Level One Countries include:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Nort Korea, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Moreover, the Singapore e Visa, a tourist visa for Singapore, is issued to holders of:
The online visa application is available to those in possession of ordinary passports. However, non-ordinary passport online visa applications for the tourist visa for Singapore are only available to North Korean citizens.
You must print out the Singapore e Visa and present it upon arrival, together with a passport linked to a valid SG Arrival Card.
Nationals of Assessment Level II countries must apply for a paper tourist visa before traveling to Singapore. This means that you need to apply for your Singapore Tourist Visa at a Singapore Embassy or Consulate.
The Assessment Level Two Countries include:
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen.
Moreover, paper Tourist Visas are available to:
The amount of time you can spend in Singapore without a visa depends on the country that issued your passport. Foreign visitors can visit Singapore without a Singapore visit visa for 90 days if they're from one of the following countries:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, The Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States (US citizens).
All these nationalities traveling to Singapore for less than 90 days need an SG Arrival Card.
Singapore visa for green card holders (USA) will be allowed to travel to Singapore for 90 days without a visa.
The SGAC is an electronic document that passport holders can apply for online. The Card replaces what was known as the paper-based Disembarkation Card for Singapore.
The electronic SG Arrival Card requirements are minimal. However, because you can apply online, your SG Arrival Card application takes minutes to complete from any device that can connect to the internet.
Remember that the Singapore Arrival Card is not a Singapore Tourist visa. It is a mandatory entry requirement (entry visa) for all foreign visitors. If you need a Singapore visa, you must file a separate application for a visa for Singapore that suits your travel needs and requirements.
To complete the SG Arrival Card application for Singapore, you must fill out an online form. You need to provide information that includes the following:
I recommend you complete the SGAC request at least 5 days before departure to allow enough time for the Singaporean authorities to process your application.
All foreign visitors need to apply for an SG Arrival Card to enter Singapore. Nationals from certain countries can apply for an SG Arrival Card, including Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, and many more countries.
You can apply for your SG Arrival card on the Singapore Visa website.
You can use the SG arrival card when passing through many of Singapore's major border crossing points. The entry points where the SG Arrival Card is accepted are:
You must present yourself for immigration clearance at your point of entry into Singapore. In addition, you must satisfy the following basic entry or Singapore Tourist Visa requirements before you can enter Singapore:
Please refer to Visa Free Transit Facility for further information on the facility.
If you're eligible for entry, you will receive a Singapore visit visa pass, which will indicate the period of stay granted. Check your Singapore visit visa pass and the number of days you can stay before leaving the checkpoint.

From here on, it's easy. You must provide your Local Contact with all the required documents like your passport, return flight ticket, and any other travel documents they might need. You also need to send your information like your passport details, travel information, address from your country of residence, and a passport-size photo. Your Local Contact must also pay the Singapore tourist visa fees on your behalf.
Next, you need to wait for the authorities to approve your visa application. If they approve your Singapore Tourist Visa, it will look something like this:
If your Visa looks something like this:
If your Visa says that it's only approved, your Local Contact must go to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) building and provide the following documents:
If the documents aren't in order or there is any incorrect information, the visa issuing authority has every right to refuse your Singapore visa application.
After your Local Contact submits the needed documents, they will receive an email telling them if the Visa is granted. If it was, they need to email the eVisa to you, and you need to print it out.
The first thing you need to do is make an appointment at your nearest Singapore Embassy. I'll include a list of Singapore Embassies in the US and their contact information later in this post. Then you need to pay your Singapore tourist visa fees (included later in the post). Next, you need to make sure that you submit all the required travel documents. If you forget to submit some documents, the Singapore visa processing time could be longer or cause authorities to reject your application. The Embassy can only process your tourist visa for Singapore application upon receipt of hardcopy of these documents.
The Embassy will let you know via email if they approve your tourist visa. You need to pick up your passport and Visa at the Embassy.
The answer is both yes and no. Some Embassies allow you to send your passport and other required documents to them through the mail. However, some Singapore Embassies require you to submit your travel documents, including your passport, in person at the Embassy.
Yes, it is safe. However, if you send your passport via email, ensure all the information on your passport is secure. You can do this by blocking out any information they don't need to use before sending it to them.
