Yes and no. Fortunately, Canada is one of the many countries that are exempted from getting a visa for Thailand for 30 days of tourism, which means you can enjoy visa-free travel to Thailand for that time.
However, if you want to stay in Thailand for longer than that, you will need to apply for long-stay visas which we will discuss in this blog.

The Thailand Visa is a type of travel document that allows foreign nationals to enter Thailand for a certain period of time.
Canadians do not need one for visiting Thailand for 30 days for tourism purposes, unless they want to stay in Thailand for longer than you will need to apply for a visa.
Citizens from Canada can apply for their long-stay Thailand Tourist Visa online through Atlys, or through the Thailand e-Visa system
The Thai Government offers a variety of visa options, depending on what your intent is.
Tourist Visa
The Thailand Tourist Visa is type of short term visa that is strictly used for leisure and tourism purposes. It comes as either a Single-Entry Visa that can be used once, or a Multiple-Entry Visa that can be used multiple times.
Holders of this visa can stay in Thailand for 60 days.
Business Visa
There are 2 types of Thailand Business Visas.
Investment Visa
Education Visa
Marriage Visa
Retirement Visa
SMART Visa
Travelers from Canada can stay in Thailand for a maximum of 30 days without a visa.
However, you can stay for much longer if you apply for a 60 day Tourist Visa.
The Thailand Visa costs 50 CAD for a Single Entry Tourist Visa, or 250 CAD for a Multiple Entry Visa.
The processing time for the Thailand Visa is roughly about 20 business days, however it can sometimes take a shorter or longer amount of time depending on the number of applicants, and when you apply for the Thailand Tourist Visa.
There are a few entry requirements or needed documents for your visa application. These are very important as without them your application will get rejected, or you will not be allowed entry into Thailand.
A Canadian passport with 6 months validity
A round-trip ticket or flight itinerary
A passport-sized photo of yourself
At least 400 CAD per person or 800 CAD per family in terms of finances
