With city adventures in Quebec, Canada has the most amazing places for you to explore while you study abroad. In this blog, I will discuss the Canadian student visa for Indian nationals.
Who Needs A Canada Student Visa
All international students who want to study in Canada and need a visitor visa or an eTA to enter Canada must get a student visa and study permit. The permit doesn't allow you to enter Canada. Still, it is coupled with a visitor visa or eTA, permitting you to start your studies.
If your study program is less than 6 months in Canada, you'll only need a visitor visa or eTA. But not a study permit on the condition that you complete the program in 6 months or less. However, you will need a study permit if you cannot complete the short program in 6 months.
If you're a family or staff member of a foreign representative to Canada who Global Affairs Canada accredits, then you do not need a study permit.
If you're a citizen of another country with a Registered Indian Status in Canada, you don't need a study permit.
What Is A Canada Student Visa For Indians
A study permit is a document issued by IRCC that authorizes Indian nationals to study at an educational institution in Canada for the duration of the program of study. It sets out conditions for the student, such as: whether your travel within Canada is restricted and when you have to leave.
A temporary resident visa is an official counterfoil document issued by a visa application centre in India. That is placed on your valid passport to show you met the study visa requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident (Indian student). A counterfoil is a specially designed sticker on which the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi, India, will print your visa information. Informally known as a visitor or tourist visa, the TRV may be issued for single or multiple entries to Canada.
The eTA is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals traveling to Canada. It will allow Canada to screen travelers before arriving. It is valid for five years or until your passport expires.
