Jordan Transit Visa For Indian Travellers- How To Apply

When completing the Jordan Transit online visa application, uploading documents is not required. However, preparing these documents is advisable, as they could be necessary when you arrive in the country. The general documentation includes:

Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Jordan. It should also have at least one blank page for the visa stamp.

Passport-Sized Photos: Provide recent passport-sized photographs that meet the specific requirements. 

Confirmed Flight Details: Include a copy of your confirmed onward ticket, showing your departure from Jordan and the next destination. This verifies that you are indeed transiting through Jordan.

Proof of Sufficient Funds: Some applications might require you to demonstrate that you have adequate financial means to cover your expenses during the layover. This could be in the form of bank statements, travel funds, or credit card statements.

Travel Itinerary: A detailed itinerary of your travel plans can help provide context for your transit visa application, such as proof of accommodation. 

Visa for final destination: If requested, show that you have a valid visa to enter your planned final destination.

Additional Supporting Documents: Depending on your specific circumstances, you might need to provide extra documents to support your application. 

Visit the Ministry of Interior (MOI) E-Services Site, which is part of the e-Government Program.

Follow the following steps when creating your account. 

Click on the "Create New Account" icon on the main page.

Choose your registration type (Individual, Corporate Organization, etc.).

Fill in the registration form with the necessary details, including personal information, travel document details, address, and contact information.

Enter a valid email address and mobile number, as you'll receive a verification code via email.

Click the "Submit" button to complete the registration.

You can log in using your username and password once you've registered.

Enter your username and password.

Type the confirmation code from the image box.

Click the "Login" button.

Once you have logged in, you will be taken to the main page.

Click on the first option, ‘Visa Applications’.

Then choose the first option, ‘Nationalities that do not require prior approval’.

Then click on the only option available, ‘Electronic Visa’.

When entering Jordan, foreign nationals are divided into two groups. The first group doesn't need approval in advance, while the second group is a pre-approved visa.

For the first group that does not require prior approval, this means that visas can be obtained after applying and paying the visa fee. Indian citizens belong to this group, meaning they don't need prior approval before getting a Jordan visa.

Complete the Jordan visa application form accurately with your details. Your application will look like the following:

At this point, have the passport and flight ticket with you to fill in the application form.

Lastly, accept the acknowledgement at the bottom of the application and then submit it.

At this point, you should have been directed to a payment page to process the Jordan transit visa fees. However, an issue on the website seems to prevent me from proceeding beyond this step.

Unfortunately, you cannot resolve this issue; however, you can apply for a different visa, such as getting a Jordan eVisa on Atlys. I recommend considering an alternative option: applying for your e-visa through Atlys.

You can also use the ‘Contact Us’ section on the main page and report the problem on the government website.

The Jordan transit visa for Indians does not have a specific processing time, as the processing begins immediately upon payment of the visa fees.

Nevertheless, for added caution, it's recommended to wait for a duration of 24 hours before taking any further action.

The validity of the transit visa is no more than 72 hours.

The Jordan transit visa is typically valid for the duration of your layover, allowing you to stay in the country for a short period while you wait for your connecting flight.
