  • The easiest and fastest way to get your Vietnam visa from India is to apply using Atlys!!
  • The other way to get your visa is through the Vietnam Embassy or Vietnamese Consulate near you.
  • You can apply through the Vietnam Immigration Portal or the eVisa website.
  • Lastly, you can also get your visa at the port of entry in Vietnam. However, this method involves carrying documents to Vietnam and waiting in long queues at the airport. And hence, I do not recommend it.

How To Submit A Vietnam Visa Application

The Vietnam visa application process will depend on where you would like to apply.

So, for instance, if you wish to apply on Atlys, you can scan your passport directly on the app to apply.

Now, suppose you decide to apply on the Vietnam eVisa portal. In that case, you must have the scanned copies on your device, fill out the application form, submit it, and pay the relevant fees to apply.

The procedure for a Vietnam visa through the Embassy is slightly different. First, you must physically visit the Embassy to submit the application and pay the relevant fees as directed by the embassy staff.

But this all will be discussed under the type of Vietnam visa for Indians. I will show you how you can apply for each visa type!

How Does A Vietnam Visa Application For Look?

The Vietnam visa application form is necessary when applying for a visa through the Embassy, Consulate, or upon arrival. This form s also known as a Vietnam visa on arrival form.

How To Fill Vietnam Visa Form?

  • Your nationality at birth: This will be based on your nationality at birth
  • Your current nationality: This is based on the passport you have and are using to get your visa. This must be the same as your passport when applying for the visa approval letter.
  • Religion: The Religion that you are practicing. You can also say 'NONE' or 'NA' if you do not practice Religion.
  • Your occupation: You provide your current job position or say 'Unemployed' if you do not work or are a student.
  • Your employer and business address: You can provide your work or business address here.
  • Permanent residential address: This address must be your home address in the country of your residence.
  • Family members: In this section, provide your relationship to the person, their full name, sex, date of birth (DD, MM, YY), nationality, and their permanent residential address.
  • Your passport or international travel document number: This number must match the document you are using to apply for your visa and carrying with you on the trip. Also, provide the type of passport you have, such as an ordinary passport, diplomatic passport, or official passport.
  • Date of previous entry into Vietnam: Provide information on which date you entered Vietnam. If this doesn't apply to you, you can leave it blank or say 'NON' or 'NA.'

  • Accompanying child(ren) under 14 years old: If the children are included in your passport (if any). You must provide information regarding any minor under 14 accompanying you on the trip if they are on the same passport as yours. You must also provide two passport photos of the child and their full name, sex, and date of birth. If this does not apply to you, write 'NONE' or 'NA.'
  • Applying for a visa: Check one of the boxes that says 'Single' or 'Multiple' depending on how many times you need to enter the country. Also, provide the dates in your visa approval letter that will be valid from and to. It must be in DD/MM/YY format.

Yes. The chances are not very high; however, there is a possibility that your visa application can get rejected.

And any Vietnam visa rejection can come with a lot of stress if you need to travel to the country soon.

Why Did My Vietnam Visa Get Rejected?

There are several causes of Vietnam visa rejections, such as:

  • You don't know the visa type that corresponds to your purpose of visit in Vietnam.
  • Passport photo attached to the form or uploaded must meet the requirements as requested by the Immigration Department.
  • You must upload the correct size or format documents online when applying for a Vietnamese visa.
  • The details in the form are missing or incorrect. Always make sure you have completed all the required fields in the application form.
  • Do not have mismatching information on the application form. For example, if you use a specific travel document, use all the information that matches that document.
  • When you apply online, choose the port of entry that matches your flight ticket, and you only use that border to enter the country.
  • Review the information you have provided in the form and ensure no mistakes or missing information. Meaning double-checking your forms and additional documents before submitting.
  • You did not follow up on your application after you applied online. As a result, the eVisa is not emailed to you. You must physically check on the eVisa portal to see if your visa application is approved and download it there.
  • Any false or missing documents that you include on your application could result in visa rejection. Which means your visa approval can take longer or get rejected.
  • Or if you have not submitted enough supporting documents to help you with your visa application.

If you're planning on getting a Vietnam work Visa For Indians, here is what you need to know to be able to successfully apply for the visa. So let's get straight into it:

What Is A Vietnam Work Visa?

A Vietnam work visa is required for an Indian national to legally work and conduct business there. There are many different types of visas that you can apply for depending on the specific work or duration of the work in Vietnam.

So you can choose the following visas that suit your needs the best:

  • LV Visa: The visa is issued to members of social organizations, political organizations, and the VietNam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • LD Visa: This visa type is issued to foreign workers eligible for a work visa and will take up work in a registered Vietnamese company.
  • DT Visa: This visa type is for lawyers and investors to stay in the country and carry out their work.
  • DT1 Visa: Applicants must invest Vietnamese Dong or VND 100 billion ($4.3 million) or more to qualify for this visa. Investment incentives are also offered to investors in economic categories and regions where the Vietnamese Government has set up incentives for investment.
  • DT2 Visa: A foreign investor can apply for this visa for five years if the total capital investment is between $2.17 million and $4.35 million. Investment incentives are also available to investors investing in the Vietnamese Government's designated economic categories and regions.
  • DT3 Visa: An investor can apply for this visa for five years with an investment capital between VND 3 billion ($130,500) and VND 50 billion ($2.17 million).
  • DT4 Visa: Foreigners can obtain this visa if their capital contribution in the country is less than VND3 billion ($130,500).

You need a company organization or sponsoring employer to employ you to obtain a work visa in Vietnam. A work visa cannot be obtained by an individual alone. Employers are responsible for handling applications and permits.

A foreign worker can't apply for a Work Visa at the Embassy until the employer has all the necessary work permits and begins the process in Vietnam. Likewise, you can't apply for a Work Visa without a work permit or exemption license.

What Is The Process Of A Vietnam Work Visa?

Well, before you can start to fill out the visa application form, your employer has to be the one to start the application process on your behalf. Then after they are done, you can now fill out the application form on your end.

'But what are the steps to get the Vietnam work visa?'

Well, let me take you through them:

  • Step 1 Go to The Vietnam online portal
  • Step 2 Fill in the form: with the initial information such as the purpose of entry, name of the organization, place of visa submission, and place of visa collection, and upload a photo.
  • Step 3 Fill in your Personal Information, such as family name, middle name, first name as in passport, gender, date of birth, place of birth, nationality at birth, nationality at present, occupation, Religion, workplace, current address, telephone number, and email (for application id & code confirmation).
  • Step 4 Fill in your Passport Information, such as your passport number, passport type, issued by country/territory, date of issue, and date of expiry.
  • Step 5 Fill In Your Visa Information, such as the proposed entry date, visa validity, proposed exit date, number of entries, proposed address in Vietnam, and have you have ever been to Vietnam.
  • Step 6 Fill In Your Sponsor Information such as organization name, address, and telephone number.

What Are The Required Documents For A Vietnam Work Visa?

Before you apply for the Vietnam work visa, you'll need to gather the following documents. Remember, without the correct documents, your application will be delayed.

  • A completed NA16 Application Form
  • A passport valid for six months past the duration of your visa
  • The passport must have two blank pages for immigration and visa stamps
  • Recent passport photograph, no older than one year, with 4x6 cm dimension
  • A sponsorship letter from your company in Vietnam
  • The company's registration certificate
  • Background check proving there are no criminal cases registered against you in Vietnam or any other nation.

What Are The Photo Requirements For Vietnam Work Visa

So, with the Vietnam work visa, you'll have to submit a passport photo taken within the last 01 year. The visa photo will have to meet the following requirements:

If you're planning to visit Vietnam, you need to get a business visa before you go to Vietnam.

What Is The Process Of A Vietnam Business Visa?

There are two options for you to get a business visa to Vietnam, which may include:

Visa at the Vietnamese Embassy in India, you will need to present the sponsorship letter from your business partner in Vietnam.

Lastly, the Business Visa on arrival (no sponsorship letter is required). However, the Vietnam visa on arrival is temporarily not available so it is best to apply for a Business visa before you go to avoid disappointment.

What Documents Are Required For A Vietnam Business Visa?

You must gather all the necessary documents when applying for a Vietnam business visa. Here are the documents required:

  • A valid passport: it needs to have 6 months of validity and two blank pages for Vietnam's visa stamp and immigration stamp.

How To Get Vietnam Business Visa From India

You must have a sponsor company in Vietnam if you are an Indian national (passport holder) and want to apply for a business visa.

To obtain a business visa for Vietnam, you and your employer must complete the following:

To get a visa approval letter, your sponsor company must gather the necessary documents for this step, Form NA2, which must be completed online; Form NA16, Certified business registration. And then, your sponsor company will submit these documents to the Vietnam Immigration Department, which will process the application after receiving all the valid documents.

If your application is accepted, your sponsor organization will get a letter approving your application for a business visa to Vietnam.

Lastly, get a business visa stamp. Before traveling to Vietnam, you must complete this step. You'll have to go a Vietnamese Embassy or consulate to get your business visa stamped on your passport. Then that’s it.

What Is The Validity Of a Vietnam Business Visa?

A business Vietnam visa has different validity it all depends on which business visa you apply for. Here are the different validities:

  • A 1 month of single/ multiple entries
  • A 3 months of single/ multiple entries
  • A 6 months of multiple
  • A 1-year multiple-entry visa

What Are The Documents Required For A Vietnam Tourist Visa?

Make that you have the required documents for your visa application.

In the worst-case scenario, they can reject your application if you forget to attach a document. You need the following documents:

  • Your current passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
  • Your passport must have at least 2 blank pages.
  • Two passport-size photographs. Suppose you don't want your visa rejected because your passport photo doesn't meet the requirements. In that case, I suggest using the Atlys photo tool to ensure you have the perfect visa photo.

Step 1: Application Form

The first step is to get your Vietnam visa application form. You can also find your application form at the office of the Embassy you're applying at or on their official website.

The other way is to fill out the online application form on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam website.

First, change the language to 'English' on the top right-hand corner of the application webpage to make it easier.

You can fill out the online application form for various purposes such as tourism, business, other short-term visas, etc.

Once you have filled out the online form, you must print out the application form to submit with other documents at the Vietnam Embassy.

Step 2: Required Documents

After filling out the application form, attach all the required travel documents (passport, passport photo, pay slips) to your application form.

Don't forget to print out the visa application form you filled out online and submit it with your visa application.

Step 3: Submit Your Application At The Embassy

Once you have completed all the steps mentioned above, you are ready to submit the application at the Embassy.

You can submit these documents at the Vietnam Embassy in New Delhi or the Vietnam Consulate General in Mumbai.

What Is A Vietnam Student Visa?

A Vietnam student visa is a non-immigrant visa that does not require citizenship for the holder. However, a student visa is required for any potential Vietnamese university student.

International University's International Student Service Center (ISSC) helps international students and scholars get visa pre-approval before departure for Vietnam. International students and scholars must submit all required documentation to ISSC at least two weeks before the anticipated day of their departure.

Once you have arrived in Vietnam, changing your tourist visa to a student visa is impossible. A Vietnam visa cannot be used for a different reason than approved. For instance, a person visiting Vietnam on a tourist visa (DL) is unable to change it to a visa for study (DH)

What Is The Process Of A Vietnam Student Visa?

Applying for a Vietnam student visa is not as easy. Here is the process of applying for it.

  • Step 1: A Letter of Acceptance will be given to you once you have been approved to study at International University. The International University will also send you an email at the same time asking you to complete the Visa Information Form. Your personal information (name, passport number, etc.) and the precise address of the Vietnam Embassy or Vietnam Consulate General closest to you are the two pieces of information being sought.
  • Step 2: The International University then submits the necessary documents to the Vietnam Immigration Department in Ho Chi Minh City (VID-HCMC). The visa pre-approval will be issued after 7 working days.
  • Step 3: The VID-HCMC will fax a copy of the visa pre-approval to the Vietnamese Embassy or General Consulate in India. You will also get an email from International University with a copy of the visa pre-approval.
  • Step 4: You're responsible for printing the visa pre-approval sent via email. Then, you must bring the pre-approval and the following documents to the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate General to get the visa. The required documents include a passport with a validity of at least 6 months, pre-approval confirmation (printed on an a4-size-paper), a letter of acceptance from an international university, visa application forms, and visa application fees.
  • Step 5: You will be notified by the Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate General on the date and time to receive your visa.

You'll need to gather the documents for the Vietnam student visa application. Here are the required documents:

  • Pre-approval confirmation (Printed on an A4-size-paper)
  • Letter of Acceptance from International University.

What Is The Validity Of A Vietnam Student Visa?

For Exchange Students from International University Partner-Universities: the length of visa will be 6 months/multiple- entry;

For Direct Exchange Students, the visa length will be 3 months/multiple-entry. When your visa expires: ISSC will be in charge of your visa extension for another 3 months. With the condition that you could prove your tuition fee payment.
