When should I apply for my Chile e-visa?

It is advised to apply for your visa to Chile at least one month before your travel date to Chille.

What documents do I need when applying for the Chile e-visa?

To successfully complete the Chile e-visa application, you must provide the following documents:

  • Passport: A copy of your passport’s information page is required.

  • Photo: A recently taken photo must be submitted.

  • Proof of accommodation: Submit a hotel reservation or an invitation letter from a host in Chile.

  • Proof of funds: You must prove you have enough funds to cover your stay in Chile. This can be done by submitting your last 3 month’s bank statements.

  • Flight Tickets: Submit your flight tickets to show your entry and departure date for Chile.

Additional documents might be required if authorities find it necessary.

Can I reapply if my Chile visa application is denied?

When your visa is denied, you can reapply for it once you have addressed all the reasons for rejection. You will lose your visa funds since the government and online portals do not refund the visa fees, except for Atlys. At Atlys, if your visa application is rejected, you'll be refunded up to ₹8000 or $100, excluding the service fee.

Is it possible to extend my Chile visa while in the country?

Yes, it is possible to extend your stay in Chile. To do so, you must apply at Extranjería (Chilean foreign department). But before you can apply, an appointment is required.

Once you have an appointment, you can submit the required documents and request a visa extension. Once approved, you can stay in Chile for a longer period.

What can cause my Chile visa application to be delayed?

Various factors can be the reason for your visa getting delayed. The most common reasons include:

  • Providing a lack of documents.

  • Details on the application form do not match your passport.

  • Peak travel seasons.

  • Having a criminal record.

Is travel insurance mandatory for Chile trips?

While not mandatory for a visa application, having travel insurance is highly recommended for emergencies.

How can I check my e-visa status online?

When you have applied for your visa on Atlys, you can easily see your visa status through the Atlys app:

How long should my passport be valid to apply for a Chile visa?

No, when applying through the government portal, you will not receive a refund if your visa is rejected. This is because the fees are used to process your visa application. However, when you apply through Atlys, you will receive a refund of up to ₹8000 (excluding the service fees) even if your visa gets rejected.
