The next step is to start with your visa application. But, first, you must complete your Turkey Visa application on the Turkey Government eVisa portal.

Suppose you want to travel to Turkey for work or study purposes. In that case, you must apply for your Visa at an Embassy or Consulate near you.

As previously discussed, US citizens can apply for the Turkey E Tourist Visa. Currently, 40 countries can apply for the Turkey E Visa.

How Long Can I Stay In Turkey On An E Visa?

US citizens can stay in Turkey for 90 days on their E Visa. Although the validity is 180 days, you can only stay in Turkey for 90 consecutive days.

Let me explain by using an example:

Suppose you enter Turkey, plan to stay for 30 days, and then return to your home country. You can then re-enter Turkey and stay for 90 days. However, you must ensure you do not overstay your Visa.

As a US citizen, you will only need a Transit Visa for Turkey if your destination is another country, but your flight will need to make a stop at Turkey, or you’re required to change flights en route or do a layover to your destination.

In addition, you will need a Transit Visa if your flight lands in Turkey before your intended destination and you plan to leave the airport’s transit lounge.

Who Can Apply For The Turkey Transit Visa?

Travelers who need to change flights or get another mode of transportation to reach their destination can apply for the Turkey Transit Visa. You can also apply for this visa if you find that you’re not eligible for other kinds of visa options, especially visa waivers.

How Long Can I Stay In Turkey On A Transit Visa?

You can stay in Turkey for 72 hours or 3 days while on the Transit Visa and waiting to head to your destination.

The Transit Visa for Turkey is a temporary visa. Therefore you won’t be able to stay in the country for a long time and do some sightseeing.

The application process for the Sticker Visa is as follows:

Step 1: Choose Between Single Or Multiple Transit

US citizens can apply for either a Single Transit Visa or a Multiple Transit Visa, depending on their needs. A Single Transit can only be used once, unlike a Multiple Transit Visa.

Step 2: Gather Your Documents

This is an important step in the application process. First, you must make sure that you have all your documents; otherwise, your visa application could be rejected or not fully processed.

Step 3: Apply Online On The Pre-Application System

You will need to apply for this transit visa online through the Turkish Pre-Application System

Over here, you will be required to fill out the online form using your personal information. You may also be required to answer questions such as your reasons for travel, your identity, nationality, and applying for the Turkey Transit Visa.

Step 4: Attend A Visa Interview

Once you have completed the online application form, you will have to attend a visa interview which the online system will give you details about. Make sure all your supporting documents are with you on the day and that you arrive early for the interview.

The interview will take place at a Turkey Consulate or Embassy near you, and you will also be required to pay the visa fee.

Step 5: Wait For Your Application To Be Processed

It takes between 3 and 15 days for your application to be processed by the Turkish government. But once the wait is over and your application is finally processed, you will be sent an email and receive your visa.

The processing time of the Turkey Transit visa takes an average of 15 days; this is because the Turkey Embassy tends not to process visa applications immediately after applications have been submitted.

You will need to apply for a Resident Permit once you have your visa and have arrived in Turkey. You will have one month to get the Resident Permit.

The Turkey e-Residency Visa, commonly known as the Turkey Residence Permit, is a document that allows foreign travelers to stay in Turkey for longer than 3 months. This document lets you stay in Turkey while doing many things, such as getting a driver’s license and tax number, opening a bank account, buying property, etc.

Who Can Apply For The Turkey E Residency Visa?

You can apply for the Turkey Resident Permit if you plan to move to the country and stay there longer than 3 months. You will also need the Resident Permit if you are studying in Turkey.

How Long Can I Stay In Turkey With The E Residency Visa?

The validity of the Turkey Residence Permit depends on which one you apply for.

    There is a two-year limit on the time that short-term resident permits can be granted.

    The validity of long-term residency permits is unlimited.

    The period of study determines how long a Student Residence Permit is valid. The length of your residence permit cannot go beyond your educational time if it is less than a year.

    For families, it may be granted for intervals of up to three years.

    A maximum of one year may elapse between the time the permission for humanitarian stay is granted and extended.

    For a thirty-day period, victims of human trafficking are granted a residency visa.

Apply for the Turkey e-Residency Visa is simple and done online, but before you apply, you need to know that you will need to apply for this visa or permit within a month of arriving in Turkey.

You can apply for the Turkey e-Residency Visa online at the Turkish Ministry of Interior website. You will be required to select what kind of Residence Permit you are applying for and make your way through the application form.

Afterward, you must make an appointment with the Directorate General of Migration Management. This is similar to a visa appointment.

Please take note that you must complete your application within 30 days once started. Your application will be suspended and you are required to start a new application.

The processing time for the Turkey Residency Visa takes an average of 3 to 6 months.

What Is The Turkey E Residency Visa Cost?

Currently, there are no costs or visa fees for the Turkey Residency Visa. However, you will need to show proof that you have the financial means to live in Turkey. If applicable you will also need to show proof of owning property in Turkey.

There are other kinds of visas for Turkey that are used by people with special needs or special jobs that need to be done in Turkey. These visas have a slightly different application process as well as a different set of requirements.

Documentary Purpose

For foreigners to film and produce films in Turkey, you will need to apply for a permit document. You can get this from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Directorate General of Cinema, and the provincial Governorate.

Tour Operator Representative

For up to eight months, tour operator representatives from other countries are not required to get a work visa in order to do their jobs. Instead, tour operator representatives are required to abide by tourist laws in Turkey.
