What Is A Jordan Pass?

The Jordan Pass is a single-fee package introduced by the Jordan Ministry Of Tourism And Antiques Board, which allows the buyer of the package to visit all the major tourist sites without paying entrance fees.

It offers discounted prices in the package instead of paying individual entrance fees. In addition, the package includes the cost of 40 tourist destinations in Jordan, such as Petra, Jerash, Amman Citadel, Aqaba Castle, Qasr Al-Azraq, Wadi Rum, and many more, including several UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

With the Jordan Pass, you can have your single-entry [tourist visa fees](/countries/JO/visa fees) exempted if you stay in the country for a minimum of three nights or four days.

The Jordan Pass saves the buyer up to 150 USD in visa fees and entrance fees for tourist sites. In addition, you can apply for a single entry tourist visa at the Jordanian Embassy or international port of entry in Jordan using the Jordan Pass.

The Jordan Pass is not mandatory and can be applied by tourists that need a visa to enter Jordan. You can produce your Jordan pass to get your visa fees for a single entry exempted.

If you do not wish to purchase the Jordan Pass, you must pay the relevant tourist visa application fees at the embassy or port of entry.

NOTE: You can only use it to get a single entry visa fee exempted. If you wish to enter the country multiple times, you must pay the necessary visa fees. The Jordan pass is only valid for one visit. You can read more about it HERE.

To summarise, the Jordan pass is a ticket that you can purchase online. It offers a discounted package for 40 tourist destinations in Jordan and waives your visa on arrival fees or single entry visa at the Jordan Embassy.

What Are The Jordan Pass Packages And Costs?

The Jordan Pass has three packages that you can choose from at different price points. The difference between the three packages is the number of days you can spend visiting Petra. First, let me give you more details on the Jordan pass fees and packages:

Jordan Wanderer: This package costs 70 JOD or 99 USD. With this package, you can visit Petra for 1 day and get free entry to close to 40 tourist sites.

Jordan Explorer: This package costs 75 JOD or 106 USD. With this package, you can visit Petra for 2 consecutive days and get free entry to close to 40 tourist sites.

Jordan Expert: This package costs 80 JOD or 113 USD. With this package, you can visit Petra for 3 consecutive days and get free entry to close to 40 tourist sites.

Buying either of the packages wavies your visa entry fees and includes tickets for the major tourist attractions. Therefore, it would be best to choose the package depending on the number of days you would like to explore Petra.

Is Buying The Jordan Pass Worth It?

Jordan pass holders can enjoy visiting the tourist sites without worrying about queuing for tickets. However, if you are a first-time visitor who wishes to explore the major tourist destinations and spend 3 nights or more, you MUST get the Jordan Pass.

Children under 12 years can visit tourist destinations free of cost with their parents.

Alternatively, if you are an independent traveler staying in Jordan for less than 3 nights or will not be visiting Petra, do not get the Jordan Pass. The reason is that the fees for the Jordan Pass will be more than the visa on arrival fees.
