General Information
Do Indians need a visa for Argentina?
Yes, Indian citizens must have a valid visa to enter Argentina for short-term tourism or social visits.
Since the visa application process involves submitting documents and a passport to the embassy, we advise you to apply well in advance to ensure you receive the visa on time for your trip.
Do minors also need a visa to travel to Argentina?
Yes, minors need a visa to travel to Argentina. Each applicant, including minors, needs to submit a separate visa application form.
Also, the visa application process for minors involves providing additional documentation, such as birth certificates and consent letters from both parents or legal guardians. Check the specific requirements with the embassy or an authorized visa channel before applying.
Can Indians get an Argentina visa on arrival?
No, Argentina does not provide a visa on arrival for Indian citizens. You must apply for a visa before traveling to the country.
How soon should I apply for an Argentina visa?
An Argentina visa is generally processed in 25-30 days. Therefore, you are advised to apply at least 4 weeks before your planned travel date.
What is the difference between the validity period of my Argentina visa and the length of stay?
The validity of a visa refers to the timeframe within which you can enter a country. In contrast, the stay period is the maximum number of days you are allowed to stay in the country once you enter.
Let us understand it with this example:
Suppose you receive a single-entry Argentina visa with a validity period from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024, and a stay period of 30 days. This means you can enter Argentina anytime between January 1 and March 31, 2024. However, once you enter, you can only stay for up to 30 days at a time.
It also means that if you choose to enter Argentina on March 29, 2024, you can still stay for 30 days from that date. You only need to ensure that, once you enter within the validity period, you stay within the duration of stay allowed.
Do I need a transit visa for Argentina?
Travelers in transit to other destinations who stay at Argentina’s international airports for less than 12 hours do not need a transit visa. If their layover is longer than 12 hours, they will need a transit visa, which they can apply for at the embassy or consulate.
What are the different types of Argentina visas Indians can apply for?
Here are the types of Argentina visas that Indians can apply for:
Tourist visa: It is issued for short-term tourism purposes, generally allowing a stay of 30 days; however, working on a tourist visa is restricted.
Business visa: Issued to foreign nationals traveling to Argentina for business activities, allowing a maximum 60-day stay.
Working visa: The Argentina working visa is for foreign nationals who wish to live and work in Argentina for the long term.
Student visa: The Argentina government issues two types of student visas. One is issued for a period of less than 365 days and the other for 365+ days, depending on the course you opt for.
Religious visa: This visa is granted to individuals (usually religious leaders and members of religious organisations) traveling to Argentina for religious purposes.
Please note that each visa type has specific requirements and documentation, which you must check with the Argentina Embassy before applying.
Are Indians eligible for Argentina Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)?
Only Indian citizens holding a US B1/B2 visa with a minimum validity of 6 months can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to Argentina. However, this option is only available for tourist visas.
If you have a valid US B1/B2 visa but are visiting Argentina for, say, business purposes, you will have to apply for a business visa at the embassy or consulate.

Application Process
Do I need to submit my passport for the Argentina visa process?
Yes, you need to submit your passport for the processing of your Argentina visa application.
Apart from identification purposes, a passport is required to stamp your visa if approved. Once done, you can collect the passport from the visa application center, or it will be delivered to your doorstep if you apply through an authorized visa channel.
How will I receive my Argentina visa once it is approved?
Once your visa application is approved, the Argentina visa will be stamped as a sticker on your passport. The visa sticker will mention important details such as your full name, passport number, nationality, date of issue, expiry date, and duration of stay permitted.
Tip: Make sure to check all these details carefully once you receive your visa sticker. If there are any discrepancies, you must report to the issuing authority immediately for correction.
How can I ensure my Argentina visa application is not rejected?
Here are a few points you can keep in mind to ensure that your Argentina visa application is approved:
Error-free application: Complete the visa application form accurately and completely. The Argentinian government clearly specifies that intentionally submitting false information can even lead to permanent ineligibility to enter Argentina. Never sign the application you are submitting without reviewing it first for accuracy.
Valid passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your intended date of entry into Argentina and has sufficient blank pages. If not, renew your passport before applying.
Recent photographs: It is important to submit recent passport-sized photographs that meet the specific requirements of the Argentinian immigration authorities. Avoid heavy filters to ensure you look the same way as seen in the photograph.
Valid supporting documents: Provide all required supporting documents, such as financial statements, employment and an invitation letter (if applicable). Make sure that the documents also meet the visa requirements. For example, when submitting bank statements and pay slips, ensure that they show sufficient funds to cover your stay in Argentina.
Clear purpose of visit: Clearly state the purpose of your visit. Whether you are traveling for tourism, ensure you explain your intentions clearly and back them up with the necessary documents, such as invitation letters or travel itineraries.
