Do I Need A Visa For Dubai When Traveling From Oman?

Whether or not you need a visa for Dubai will depend on the passport that you carry. So I suggest you have a look at the question mentioned below to find the answer to your question:

Do Oman Citizens Need A Visa For Dubai?

No, Oman citizens don't need a Tourist visa (Visit Visa) before traveling to Dubai. This means that you don't need to go through the hassle of a visa application process before traveling to Dubai. Oman citizens qualify for a Dubai Visa On Arrival (VOA), which is a single-entry visa because they're part of the GCC countries. A valid Omani passport should be produced at the immigration desk while traveling to UAE.

We recommend having your National ID Card with your passport when arriving in Dubai. Once your passport is stamped by the Immigration Department, you get access to visit or stay in all 7 emirates of the United Arab Emirates:

  • Abu Dhabi.

  • Dubai.

  • Sharjah.

  • Ajman.

  • Fujairah.

  • Ras-Al-Khaimah.

  • Umm AL-Quwaim.

Do I Need A Visa For Dubai If I Have An Oman Resident Permit?

Yes, you do. If you only have a visa for Oman or a residence permit, you must apply for a Dubai Tourist Visa. Fortunately, you can apply for this visa online! I'll discuss this later in the post.

However, remember that if you belong to a country that can get a visa on arrival in Dubai, you do not have to worry about getting a visa before your trip.

Do I Need A Visa If I Accompany Someone With A Oman Resident Permit To Dubai?

Yes, you do. Unfortunately, you must apply for a visa if you're traveling to Dubai with someone with an Oman resident permit.

Do I Need A Visa For Dubai If I Travel By Road?

The same goes for the answers above. If you are a GCC citizen, you do not require a visa to enter Dubai. However, if you only have Oman residency, you will need to apply for a Dubai Tourist Visa.

Will My Airline Let Me Fly Without A Visa To Dubai From Oman?

The airline you fly with decides whether or not you can board the flight without a visa.

This is why I recommend you contact the airline you wish to travel with to ensure that you'll be able to board your flight to Dubai without applying for a Dubai Visa beforehand.

You need to do this before you book your date of travel, just in case the airline won’t allow you to board without a visa.

What Is A Dubai Tourist Visa?

A Dubai Tourist Visa is a visa that allows you to travel to and enter Dubai. You must apply for this visa before traveling. You can apply for a single-entry visa or a multiple-entry visa.

With a single entry visa, you can only enter Dubai once during the validity period. However, a multiple-entry visa allows you to enter Dubai multiple times during the visa validity period.

What Is The Validity Of The Dubai Tourist Visa?

Depending on your plan, tourist visas to Dubai can be issued for 30 or 90 days, single entry, or multiple entries.

Recently, the UAE facilitated a five-year visa that enables tourists to enter multiple times on self-sponsorship and remain in the country for 90 days on each visit, which can be extended for another 90 days.

How Much Is A Dubai Tourist Visa?

The cost of your Tourist Visa depends on the type of visa you apply for. I'll give you the visa fee for each Dubai Visit Visa. For example, the 30-Day Single-Entry Dubai Visit Visa costs OMR 26 (AED 250).

On the other hand, if you apply for the 90-Day Single-Entry Dubai Visit Visa, you'll need to pay a visa fee of OMR 63 (AED 600).

However, you should know that these fees can change depending on where you apply. For example, the hotel and visa agencies' prices may differ from those of Emarites.

How Long Does It Take To Process A Dubai Tourist Visa?

The processing time for the visa is about 3-5 business days.

However, the processing time might be longer depending on where you apply, if you apply during peak season, or if the place you apply has a high volume of applications.

Can I Extend My Tourist Visa?

All types of visit and tourist visas can be extended for 30 days twice upon application and after the relevant authority successfully approves. This can be done without the need to leave the country.

Visitors and tourists can apply for the second renewal before the expiry of the first one against OMR 63 (AED 600) for each time of renewal.

If you overstay before renewing, you'll have to pay OMR 10 (AED 100) fine for each day of your overstay, to be calculated 10 days after the visa expiry.

However, the new rule for an extension does not apply to the following categories:

  • Visitors and tourists who are residents of GCC countries

  • Residents accompanying GCC nationals

  • Those on special entry permits

  • Those on 96-hour permits for special missions.

What Are The Required Documents For A Dubai Tourist Visa?

Before you apply for your Tourist Visa, you need certain travel documents for your visa application process.

These documents are crucial for your application process. If you forget one of these documents, it could slow down the application process, or in extreme cases; officials can deny your visa.

You need the following documents:

  • A Valid Passport that meets the requirements

  • A Return Flight Ticket

  • A Recent Passport-Size Photograph that meets the requirements

  • Travel Bookings

  • An Invitation Letter

  • Proof Of Sufficient Funds

You must also ensure that you have Travel Insurance. Depending on where you apply, you might need to provide additional documents or any other supporting documents they might need.

Also, depending on where you apply, you might need to upload a copy of your Oman visa or resident permit.
