What documents are required for a Botswana visa?

When applying for your visa to Botswana, these are the documents you will require:

  • Passport: You must submit a valid passport with at least 3 blank pages.

  • Photo: You will be required to upload a recently taken photo.

  • Invitation Letter: Submit an invitation letter from a host in Botswana.

  • Return Flight Ticket: Show proof that you have a flight back home by submitting a flight ticket.

  • Proof Of Sufficient Funds: Show proof that you have sufficient funds for your trip to Botswana.

  • Marriage/Birth Certificate: Notarised copies of marriage and birth certificates for your spouse and any dependents.

  • Host National ID Card: Notarised copies of your host's national identification card, residence and work permits, or exemption certificates. If a church is inviting you, notarise ordination certificates from religious leaders.

  • Return Visa/Resident Permit: A valid return visa or residence permit from your country of current residence.

  • Parent Consent Letter: For minors under 18 travelling without their biological parents, a consent letter from both parents is needed.

Can I reapply if my Botswana visa application is denied?

If your visa is rejected, you can reapply for your visa. To do so, you must ensure that all your documents are provided and you meet the requirements.

Reapplying for your visa causes you to pay the visa fees again since the government or visa portals will not refund them. Instead, you can apply through Atlys, where you are guaranteed a refund of up to ₹8000 or $100 on rejected visas. This refund will not include the service fee.

How long in advance must I apply for my Botswana visa?
