As of 2025, the Nepali passport ranks 98th globally in terms of travel freedom, granting visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 38 destinations worldwide. Between 2021 and 2025, the Nepali passport has shown a gradual improvement in global mobility rankings. In 2021, it ranked 110th globally. This improved incrementally in subsequent years, 105th in 2022, 103rd in 2023, and 98th in 2024. Notably, Nepal maintained its position at 98th in 2025, indicating a period of stability following consistent progress.
While the passport's strength remains limited compared to many countries, it still allows for travel without a traditional visa to several countries in Asia, the Caribbean, Africa, and Oceania.
