Detailed Iraq Visa Requirements
Photo Size
The photo must measure exactly 45 millimetres in height and 35 millimetres in width. This is the standard passport photo size accepted by Iraqi immigration authorities. Photos that are too large or too small may be rejected.
Head Size
Your head, measured from the chin to the top of the hair, should cover 30mm to 36mm (70–80%) of the photo height. This ensures your facial features are clearly visible for identification.
Background
Use a completely white background with no patterns, textures, or shadows. Avoid off-white, cream, or grey tones. A clean background is necessary for biometric processing.
Facial Expression
Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed and eyes open. Avoid smiling, frowning, or raising eyebrows. This is a requirement for accurate biometric matching.
Recency
The photo must reflect your current appearance and be no older than 6 months. Outdated photos may lead to confusion or delays in processing.
Photo Format
Digital photo files must be in one of these three formats: JPG, JPEG, or PNG. These are the only accepted formats for uploading with your online application.
Headgear & Glasses
Headgear: Head coverings are only allowed for religious purposes. Even then, the headgear must not cast shadows or obscure any part of the face, especially the eyes, nose, mouth, or chin.
Glasses: Avoid wearing glasses. If they must be worn, ensure there’s no glare, tint, or shadow from the frames. The eyes must be fully visible and unobstructed.
Iraq Visa Photo Guidelines for Children
The child must be alone in the photo (no toys, pacifiers, or adults visible)
Use a plain white background with no shadows
Eyes should be open and visible (closed eyes allowed for infants under 1 year)
Keep a neutral expression
Head should be centred with the full face visible
The photo must meet all size and quality requirements mentioned above
