My Japan visa application status shows “rejected.” What can I do?

If your Japan visa application has been rejected, you can reapply after addressing the reasons for rejection. 

Japanese visas are generally rejected when the applicant does not meet the following criteria for visa issuance:

• The applicant has no valid passport and cannot re-enter their home or residence country.

• Some or all of the submitted documents are fake, incomplete, or unacceptable.

• The applicant's activities, status, or stay don't meet the requirements of Japan's immigration rules.

• The applicant is listed under one or more conditions in Article 5, Paragraph 1 of the Immigration Control Act.
