Taiwan Visa Photo Requirements

Here are the official photo guidelines as per the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Taiwan:

  • Dimensions: 45 mm (height) × 35 mm (width)

  • Head Size: 32 mm to 36 mm from chin to crown (70–80% of the image)

  • Photo Age: Taken within the last 6 months

  • Background: Plain white

  • Expression: Neutral, mouth closed, eyes open

  • Face Position: Head must be centred, facing forward

  • Colour & Format: full-colour, digital submissions in JPEG or JPG, RGB colour, 24-bit, max 5 MB

  • Glasses: Allowed, but no glare, tints, or thick frames covering the eyes

  • Headgear: Only for religious or medical reasons; the entire face must remain visible

  • Photo Quality: No red-eye, shadows, ink marks, creases, or retouching

  • Accessories: No colored or circle contact lenses

  • Photo Device: Minimum 3 megapixels

Taiwan Visa Photo Size

Photos must be 45 mm x 35 mm and show the top of the head down to the shoulders. The face should cover 70–80% of the frame, with a head size between 32 mm and 36 mm.

Taiwan Visa Photo Format & File Size

Digital photos must be in JPEG or JPG format, RGB colour mode (24-bit), with a minimum resolution of 531 x 413 pixels, and a file size no larger than 5 MB.

Taiwan Visa Photo Background

The background must be plain white with even lighting. It should be free from shadows, patterns, or any other distractions. Outdoor or mixed lighting is not acceptable.
