General Information
Do Indians need a visa to enter Nepal?
No, Indian citizens do not require a visa to visit Nepal. Effective October 1, 2000, Indians can travel to Nepal without a visa.
Can I work in Nepal during my visit?
No, working in Nepal as a tourist is not permitted. A tourist visa-free policy is solely for tourism, recreation, and sightseeing purposes and does not grant the right to engage in employment or any work-related activities. If you wish to work in Nepal, you must apply for a work visa or obtain a valid work permit.

Does Nepal have any specific entry requirements?
When visiting Nepal, you must have one of the following documents with you:
A valid Indian passport, or
A voter ID card issued by the Government of India, or
An emergency certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in Nepal.
Note: A downloaded or online printout of a Voter ID card is not accepted as a valid travel document. Similarly, documents such as Aadhaar, PAN card, driving license, or Indian Embassy registration are also not valid for travel to Nepal.
What are the passport requirements for entering Nepal for tourism?
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay to enter Nepal.
How much is the bank balance required for visiting Nepal for tourism?
There is no specific bank balance requirement for Indian citizens visiting Nepal for tourism, as they do not need a visa. However, as suggested by travel experts, the required bank balance for a Nepal tourist visa should be 1500 INR to 4000 INR per day, sufficient to cover travel expenses.
