General Information
Do Indians need a visa for Turkey?
Yes, Indian citizens visiting Turkey for tourism purposes must obtain a visa before travelling.
Note: Indians holding a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit are eligible to apply for a Turkey e-visa. The e-visa application is completely online.
Can Indians get a visa on arrival when travelling to Turkey?
No, Turkey does not offer a visa-on-arrival for Indian citizens. You need to apply for a visa in advance.
Can Indians apply for a Turkey e-visa?
Indian passport holders with a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK, or Ireland are eligible for a Turkey e-visa. A Turkey e-visa is valid for a single entry and allows a stay of up to one month. You can easily apply for the e-visa through Atlys.
Can I enter the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with a Turkey visa?
To enter TRNC through Türkiye, you need a special Turkish sticker visa issued specifically for TRNC by a Turkish Embassy or Consulate. This requires the usual standard visa documents. You may also enter TRNC with a Türkiye e-visa.

What are the Turkey visa requirements for Indians?
To apply for a Turkey visa from India, you will need the following documents:
Visa application form: You must complete the visa application form accurately.
Passport: Your passport should be valid for at least six months upon arrival in Türkiye and must have at least two blank pages available for the visa stamp. The photo must satisfy the Turkey visa photo requirements.
Photo: You need a passport-sized photo (2.5x2.5 inches) with a white background taken within the last 6 months. If you apply through Atlys, you will have the option to take a selfie, which will be automatically adjusted according to visa requirements.
Cover Letter: A cover letter outlining your entire travel plan, including the purpose of stay, duration, accompanying person(s) details, occupation, and expenses. The letter must also include your signature and contact details.
No Objection Certificate: If you are employed, a No Objection Certificate from your employer is required.
Flight Tickets: You must provide a return or onward flight ticket (reservation is acceptable).
Proof of accommodation: Hotel reservations during your stay in Türkiye must be submitted.
Proof of Funds & Employment: Submit your last 3 months' salary slips on company letterhead with signature and stamp, along with your bank statement for the last 6 months showing a minimum balance of ₹1 lakh (per person). You will also need to provide your Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 years.
Travel Insurance: Travel insurance covering the entire duration of your stay in Türkiye is required. This will be provided during submission at the Türkiye Visa Application Centers.
Proof of Civil Status: Submit a copy of your Aadhar card and PAN card (ensure both are clearly visible).
Additional Documents: Moreover, depending on special circumstances in your visa application, you will be required to submit additional documents, such as sponsorship documents, an invitation letter or a marriage certificate.
Is there a minimum financial requirement for Indians to apply for a Turkey visa?
Yes, to apply for a Turkey visa from India, you must submit last 6 months bank statements showing a minimum balance of at least ₹1 lakh (per person). This ensures that you have enough funds to support yourself during your stay in Turkey.
Do I need travel insurance for my trip to Turkey?
Yes, travel insurance is required for your trip to Turkey. The insurance must be valid for the entire duration of your stay and should cover any unexpected situations, such as medical emergencies, accidents, or trip cancellations.
I am currently unemployed. Can I still get a Turkey tourist visa?
Yes, you can still apply for a Turkey tourist visa even if you are unemployed. The key factor in your application will be your ability to demonstrate that you can financially support yourself during your stay in Turkey. To do so, you can provide documents such as your Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the past three years and the last 6 months’ bank statements showing a minimum balance of at least ₹1 lakh (per person).
If you do not have sufficient funds, opt for sponsorship, and you will be required to submit the financial documents to your sponsor along with a sponsorship letter.
My trip to Turkey is sponsored. What are the documents that I need to submit for the visa?
If your trip to Turkey is sponsored, you will need to submit the following documents:
Monetary documents: The sponsor can submit their financial documents, such as bank statements, along with the original sponsorship letter, if the applicant does not have the required financial means.
Sponsor's passport copy: A copy of the sponsor's passport is required.
Employment letter: If the sponsor is employed, an employment letter with the company seal is needed. Alternatively, notarised company registration documents are required if the sponsor is an employer.
Relationship proof: If the sponsor is a relative, proof of the relationship must be submitted.
Can I apply for a Turkey visa if my passport is about to expire?
No, you cannot apply for a Turkey visa if your passport is about to expire. Your passport must be valid for at least six months upon arrival in Türkiye and must have at least two blank pages available for the visa stamp.
Recommendation: If your passport is nearing its expiration date, renew it before applying for a visa to meet the validity requirements and avoid rejection.

How to apply for a Turkey visa from India?
To apply for a Turkey visa from India, follow these steps:
Fill out the application form: Download and complete the online visa application form.

You will receive your approved Turkey visa as a sticker affixed to your passport. Once approved, the visa will be sent to you either via mail or can be collected from the Visa Application Center, depending on the option you selected during the application process.
Do I need to submit my passport for the Turkey visa process?
If you are not eligible for an e-visa, then yes, you need to submit your passport during the Turkey visa application process for identification purposes.
Will there be an interview process for Indians applying for a Turkey visa?

No, you cannot edit your application after submission. If you need to make changes, you will have to start a new application.
There is a mistake on my issued Turkey tourist visa. What can I do?
If there is a mistake or error on your Turkey visa sticker, you should contact the Visa Application Center (VAC) where you initially submitted your application. The VAC will send your passport to the embassy for correction. If you applied through another authorised channel, you must check with them directly for assistance.
Please note that additional fees may be requested depending on the source of the error.
Can I apply for a Turkey visa directly at the embassy?
No, you cannot apply directly at the Turkish Embassy. You must submit your visa application through the Turkish Visa Application Centre or an authorised visa service provider, such as Atlys.
