Do’s and Don’ts of Saudi Visa Photos

Do:

  • Use a white background

  • Maintain neutral facial expression

  • Keep hair off the face

  • Ensure even lighting and proper framing

  • Centre your head and keep your eyes looking straight

Don’t:

  • Don’t use selfies with filters

  • Don’t crop group photos

  • Don’t wear fashion accessories that obscure your face

  • Don’t smile or tilt your head

  • Don’t submit old or low-quality images

Is it okay to wear makeup in my Saudi visa photo?

Yes, light and natural makeup is allowed. However, it must not change your natural appearance or obscure your facial features. Avoid filters or digital enhancements.

Can I take my Saudi visa photo with a phone camera?

Absolutely. As long as the photo is clear, properly lit, and meets all technical requirements (size, background, face proportion), phone cameras are perfectly fine—especially when paired with the Atlys photo tool.

Are there different photo rules for children under 5?

The rules are the same, but infants and toddlers may have some leniency, such as not requiring eyes to be fully open. However, they must be photographed alone, without toys, people, or distractions in the frame.

What background should I use if I’m taking the photo at home?

Use a plain white wall or sheet. Avoid patterns, objects, or shadows. Even lighting is essential for compliance.
