General Information
Can I apply for the Oman 30-day visa?
Yes, you can apply for a 30-day tourist visa to Oman (also known as a 6B visa), which is suitable for longer stays for tourism, cultural activities, or family visits. However, you can apply for the 30-day visa only through a government-authorised sponsor.
Apply with Atlys, which is an authorised sponsor by the government of Oman.
Do I need a sponsor to apply for the Oman 30-day visa?
You can only apply for an Oman 30-day visa through a government-authorised sponsor like Atlys. Like many Gulf countries, Oman processes visas through a sponsor-led system. Oman wants to control illegal migration without making the visa process too burdensome, so it authorises certain sponsors worldwide to process such visas.
Apply with Atlys, which is a sponsor authorised by the Government of Oman.
Can minors apply for a 30-day visa to Oman?
Yes, minors, including infants, can apply for a 30-day e-visa to enter Oman.
Note: Additional documents, such as a birth certificate, might be required.
What is the difference between the validity period and the length of stay of my Oman 30-day visa?
The validity period of your Oman visa is the time frame within which you must enter the country, while the length of stay is the maximum number of days you can stay once you enter.
For example, if you have a single-entry 30-day Oman visa with a validity of three months, say from June 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024, you can enter anytime within these dates. Once you enter, you’re allowed to stay for up to 30 days. Even if you arrive on August 29, you can stay for the full 30 days as long as your stay doesn’t exceed the permitted duration.

Refunds, Rejections & Reapplications
What if my Oman 30-day visa application is rejected?
If your Oman 30-day visa application is rejected, understand and address the reasons for rejection before you reapply. In our experience, Oman visas are rejected for 3 primary reasons:
Invalid passport: It is important that your passport is valid for 6 months from the arrival date in Oman. If you have an expired passport or it is expiring soon, your visa will be rejected.
Blacklisted: Previous immigration violations can result in your name being blacklisted in the country’s system. If you believe you are wrongly blacklisted, you should visit the Oman Embassy for clarification.
Holding an active visa: If you already possess a valid Oman visa, your visa application will be rejected.
If you are still unsure about the reason for rejection, it is best to consult authorised sponsors or the embassy for guidance.
How can I correct a mistake on my Oman 30-day visa after it has been issued?
If you notice an error on your Oman visa after it has been issued, here’s what you should do:
Contact your sponsor or visa provider: Inform them of the mistake as soon as possible. They can guide you through the process of correcting the error.
Submit a correction request: Depending on the nature of the mistake, you may need to submit a formal request to the relevant Omani authorities or your sponsor to correct the visa. This might involve providing proof of the correct information (e.g., a copy of your passport).
Pay any applicable fees: Some corrections may incur a fee, especially if a new visa needs to be issued.
Visa Extension & Overstays
Can I extend my 30-day Oman visa while in the country?
Yes, you can easily extend the 30-day Oman tourist visa. For first-time extensions, you can easily do it online on the Royal Oman Police Portal. For subsequent extensions, you will need to visit the DGPCS Office, Al Khuwair, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.
What happens if I overstay my Oman 30-day visa?
If you overstay in Oman, there is a fine equivalent to OMR 10.000 for each day of overstay. Additionally, overstaying can also lead to legal consequences and may affect your ability to enter Oman or other countries again in the future.
Entry & Exit Regulations
Can I work on the 30-day Oman tourist visa?
No, you cannot work in Oman with a 30-day tourist visa. Working while on a tourist visa is illegal and can lead to severe penalties, including fines, imprisonment, and deportation.
If you intend to work in Oman, you must apply for a work visa, which requires a job offer from an Omani employer and approval from the Omani Ministry of Manpower.
My travel to Oman has been postponed. Is my issued 30-day visa still valid?
Yes, the 30-day Oman visa remains valid as long as you enter within the visa's stated validity period. If your new travel date falls beyond the visa's validity period, you must apply for a new visa before travelling to the country.
